SeaLover Surf School is a family passion
From the passion of the father, Oliver, along with that of his son Ian, Italian Surf champion, SeaLover Surf School in Ostia (Rome) was born.
Head Coach Ian Catanzariti
Our Head Coach Ian Catanzariti, despite the young age, is specialized in particular in advanced courses in order to support athletes who want to enter in the world of competition, also young people and adults who want to progress safely, seriously and in a professional environment.
Ian started to get closer to the world of surfing at the tender age of 4 years thanks to the passion and support of the father that led him from a very young age in countless trips to the ocean.
Also the constant days of surfing on roman beaches of Ostia Lido and surroundings led him have a rapid progression, on top of this several long training with international coaches mainly carried out in the beautiful French beaches.
Starts competing in the Italian surfing league at the young age of 8 years, as a Junior athlete enters in the national team where he won in all the categories Under 12/14/16, and twice in the fierce under 18.
Currently the vice champion of the Italian Seniorhe also participated in the ISA world Junior Japan in 2017 and in California in 2019. Long stays abroad for training, especially in South Africa Jeffreys Bay urged him to compete in competitions QS Wsl in Europe where the level is very high.
Currently, he is focusing and certifying as athletic trainer for activities relating to and in preparation for the practice of surfing.
Coach Oliver Catanzariti
Oliver started surfing at the dawn of the Italian surf in 1984when only the passion could help to keep the interest high for a complicated activity to deal with, with very little information, total absence of materials, boards and wetsuits: a period surely the most romantic, where the total absence of the internet, webcam, and various app technology made it all the more complex but also the most fascinating.
Forcing the few dozens of surfers in the area, to study the meteorology, the morphology of the coast, the depths, refer to the few available magazines and to tackle the first trips in total autonomy with countless unknowns, all of this has consolidated important relationships.
Specialized in abroad traveling, places to go Surfing with over 30 years of experience in airlines in customer service and customer support, passion in quality surfing boards and solo traveling Oliver puts at the disposal of the school, years of experience, not only in teaching and practical teaching, but also and above all of the values that the massification of the sport tend to forget.
He lived in Australia, Indonesia and South Africa, as well as countless other trips, always with the board at his steps.
